Things are Heating Up
It is hard to miss the upset that permeates the current reality in our world.
Whether it is about politics, nuclear threat, the economy, Global Warming or a disagreement with a loved one, family member or co-worker, I sometimes feel like a lobster in a boiling pot where the temperature keeps elevating and I am getting cooked before I know to get out. And in this case, there is no real way out as there is no escape from Reality which includes all the above.
But in each upset, lies an opportunity, to grow, connect, take a stand for our highest nobility, transcend the disconnect and in doing so add to the evolution of humanity.
We are contributing one way or another. Even abdication, avoidance and apathy are choices.
I believe each choice adds to either the pool of separation or connection, hate or love, resentment or forgiveness.
We long for belonging but often feel disconnected and lonely even in a crowd.
We are separated from who we really are, separated from others who share the planet and separated from Reality, God, Life, and the Universe.
I get it. It’s a lot to engage with. “It’s overwhelming. It’s all too much.
What can I do? I am just one person. I have little or no power to effect change, it won’t make a difference anyway.”
I too succumb to these states of hopelessness.
But if I take a breath and step back and see the opportunity to bring my best to life wherever I can, the tipping point gets closer.
Out of the death of the woman in Charlottesville, comes, “ I will not hate”.
Out of the destruction and violence from those who believe they are better than others no matter who the others are comes people standing up for each other, lending support and reaching for ways to foster trust between people no matter what color, religion. ethnic back ground, or economic basis they come from.
It is each of our responsibilities to manage our fears, our judgements and expectations and bring our courage, love and wisdom to each encounter.
Nothing and no one person is too small to matter.
Letting a car in to a line in traffic, offering a seat to an older person, being more patient and respectful to a telemarketer, picking up litter from the street where I live, turning off the lights when I leave a room, consciously making my choices in how and where I spend my money and doing my civic duty by casting my vote and supporting the causes I care about.
Where can I serve? How will I serve? Or What am I serving?
All good questions to be asking ourselves.
I hope I am not coming off as some “holier than thou” preacher.
I am human. I have my work to do moment to moment. This is as much a reminder to me as anyone.
But I am paying attention to my state, my conscious and unconscious thoughts and actions. I am growing and reaching for my best.
This is an invitation for you to do the same.
I have a coach to help me see my blind spots, my abdication, my drivenness and most importantly, my resentments.
We can’t see what we don’t see. It is helpful to have the eyes of someone I trust on me to help me see and encourage me to bring my best. Does this make sense? I hope it does.
It is my intention, to provide both loving and firm feedback to those who elect to have me as their coach.
If I can be of service to you in your day to day experience, if you want to grow, if you want to lighten your stress, reduce your resistance, if you want to learn to forgive, if you want to be better leader, parent, teacher or citizen of life, if you want to move forward with your creative vision or enterprise, I am here and ready to serve YOU.
Join the flow and experience the quality of life you seek.
Thank you for considering this invitation.
More to Life!
